-Individuals who cherish the written Word & meditate on it day & night (Ps. 1)
-Church that values the preached Word & practices “expositional listeningâ€
-Souls “saved†by the implanted Word & guarded by disciplined reading
The Spirit of the Sword
“While Peter was still saying these things, the Holy Spirit fell on all who heard the Word†(Acts 10:44)
-Spirit making us doers of the Word and not just hearers (James 1:23)
-Spirit using Word to comfort the afflicted & afflict the comfortable
-Spirit-filled lifestyles of godly character, righteous living, and mission
mindedness
-Spirit-gifting that exalts Christ (1 Cor. 12:3) & empowers the church (Eph. 4:11)

The Infectious Gospel

The truth and experience of the Gospel to transform:
-Unity in the church, God’s temple and dwelling (2:11-22; 4:1-6)
-Our understanding of “race†and our posture to ethnic groups (3:1-6)
-Roles and gifting in the body (4:11-16)
-New life and growth in holiness and wisdom (4:17-5:21)
-The relationship between wives and husbands (5:22-33)
-Childrearing and children’s response to parents (6:1-4)
-Work ethic and submission to employees (6:5-9)
The Battle of God
“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood…†(Eph. 6:12)
Biblically informed about our enemy (6:12)
Practice of putting on the “armor of God†(6:11)
-Students of truth and lovers of righteousness (6:14)
-Ready with the Gospel (6:15) and guarded in faith (6:16)
-Looking to God who saves and speaks (6:17)
-Armed with prayer (6:18-19) in the Spirit (5:18)

Women’s Conference 09
“Because He Loves Meâ€
“For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, …that you may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, 19and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God†(Ephesians 3:14-19)
-All ladies attending to be refreshed in the Gospel & the love of Christ
-Women wrestling with condemnation or legalism to rest in Christ
-Women suffering with affliction to find peace in Christ
-Women struggling with the seduction of the world to find satisfaction in Christ
-The truth and reality of the Gospel would produce radical, Christ-exalting, church-building women who proclaim with their lives the surpassing value of Christ
A Legacy of Biblical Womanhood
“Older women… are to teach what is good, and so train the young women†(Titus 2:3-4)
-Ladies who are nurturing biblical femininity and pursuing personal godliness
-Women who rejoice in trials and persevere in affliction
-Young ladies who breathe grace and promote unity
-Older women training younger women in the Lord (Titus 2:4)
-Women who hate gossip, idleness, jealousy, and strife but who study God’s -Word daily, bear the church’s burdens through prayer, and encourage the saints in steadfast faith.

Come to Him
Open House Sunday

-God to stake His claim on lost souls this morning
-God to be pleased to reveal himself to many
-Jesus exalted as the sovereign distributor of grace
-Christ to awaken the sleeper & discipline the wanderer
-“Salvation belongs to the Lord†(Jonah 2:9) to be the anthem of praise
Coming to a Tender Christ
“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls†(Matt. 11:28-29)
-Spiritually weary to find rest in Christ
-Those who labor in self-righteousness to trust the work of Christ
-Resistant hearts to be won by the Savior
-Those who thirst to abandon empty cisterns in order to drink of Christ
-“Learning of Christ†to be the posture of all LCC believers
