Adoration: Exalting God’s Attributes and Character

-The only, perfect, self-sufficient God
-The holy, righteous, just God
-The loving, merciful, good God
-The creating, sustaining, redeeming God
-The Triune God: Father, Son, & Holy Spirit

Confession: Acknowledging and Repenting of Sin

-Personal sin – “I have…”
-Corporate sin – “we have…”

1 Jn 1.8-9 “If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

Thanksgiving: Contemplating his Grace and Blessings

-For blood-wrought redemption and cross-accomplished reconciliation
-For sovereign reigning over life’s events – his good purpose accomplished and fulfilled
-For Spirit-empowered victory over sin struggles that once held you captive
-For the ways God is currently working in our church and our families

Supplication: “…will he not freely give us all things?” (Rom. 8.32)

-Our biggest need: more of Christ in our thoughts, affections, and actions!
-Progress in our personal battles with sin
-Boldness to live and proclaim the Gospel
-Healing for the sick and weary
-Whatever other needs that burden you (“…you have not because you ask not” James 4.2)

While our primary area of focus and responsibility of prayer concerns the needs of our local church body, we don’t want to fail to pray for certain world events that demand our attention. Here is a situation occurring in Afghanistan involving Korean missionaries who were taken hostage and threatened to be killed. Eight of the 23 hostages were released yesterday, while one of the missionaries has already died. Additionally, the church that had sent these missionaries to the middle east has received much criticism and persecution from the Korean public. Please pray for the safety of the remaining hostages, and for the revelation of the glory of God to the lost.
